Why Support Endorsed Candidates.

 As public employees our futures are completely dependent on decisions made by politicians. As state employees almost everything the legislature does effects us.

 NAPE puts candidates for the Nebraska Legislature through a thorough screening;

We send a questionnaire about issues that concern us.

Then when the questionnaire is returned the Government Affairs Committee (membership on this committee is open to any member who wishes to participate) analyzes the responses.

If the committee believes that some candidates need more thorough screening, a group of committee members meets with the candidate and questions them further.

  The committee then votes as to which candidate to recommend. 

By electing endorsed candidate we have been able to stop many bad ideas from becoming law, such as LB 884, the governors proposed "Wellness Program".

NAPE makes these endorsements on issues only, not party lines. NAPE has endorsed many Republicans over the years.
